The holiday season had just wrapped up…or maybe unwrapped. Before we say good bye completely to 2016, let’s give a little nod to our winners of the Santa/ Mrs. Claus contest.

Behind every good man is a great woman and Santa is no different; which brings us to the judges pick Becky McDonald as Mrs. Claus. We felt it was a fair shake to share the love with Mrs. Claus; after all, we’re pretty sure she keeps the ship running smoothly while Santa is busy in the workshop. Here is what Becky had to say about the winning the contest and how she got going in the role.

Dear Clown Antics,
Thank you so much for your recognition of my Mrs. Claus.

I am fairly new at Mrs. Claus, this being my second season. I had an opportunity to help kick off a new story time with Mrs. Claus at the Turtleback zoo in New Jersey last year. I was thrilled, the program had wonderful feedback and I had the opportunity to do it again this year. I have always wanted to embrace this character and was thrilled with the opportunity. I was going for a more modern look and was happy with the results. Aside from story time, I also do meet and greets during the holiday season, sometimes with Santa. Once again, thank you!

Best,
Becky McDonald

I have been playing Santa for 5 years. It was just by chance I started playing Santa. A production/consulting company (Webb  consulting and managing services Inc. )  I have done gigs for four years. (Magic/Balloon twisting for kids) was having a lot of trouble finding a Santa for all of their events. So the owner (Bill) asked if I was interested.
My dad has been playing Santa for almost 50 years in Florida. I jumped at the opportunity to do so.
My dad playing Santa for so long, is and was my inspiration behind my Santa character. I remember my dad always being my Santa, and how cool it was when he did magic for me, and all the kids that come to see him. Which my   character Magic Santa was born. My dad was also the reason I am a professional magician today.  He ignited my passion for magic growing up as a kid.
My entry picture is from one of my appearances I did last year at a restaurant for brunch with Santa. I had someone take the picture with my phone to post on  social media, and it’s just a really good picture that really shows my character as Santa.
My name is Robert Cannon (Robbie). I was born in raised in Cocoa, Florida. I moved to Anchorage, Alaska. In May 2010. I have been a professional magician and balloon twister for 26 years, with some clowning as well. My website is magicbyrobbie.com and I have a Facebook page Magic By Robbie, and Instagram magicbyrobbie and twitter @magicbyrobbie
I play Santa for numerous events throughout Alaska. Most of it in Anchorage though. My events include:
Holiday Food and Gift Festival
The Art & Crafts Emporium
Christmas Village
I am also the Santa for: Make A Wish Alaska
and the National Down Syndrome Association Alaska as well.
I also have been flown to Juneau, Alaska to be Santa.
I do corporate events and make home and  photography appearances.
I strive to be the best Santa there is, and really want the kids to believe. Which I think has help my career as Santa.
Thank you for having this contest and have an Amazing New Year!!!

Wow, what a wonderful journey into the world of Santa! Makes me want to hop on a reindeer and go see Robbie in person. How cool is it that his father was also a magician and Santa which inspired Robbie to follow in his foot steps. Thank you for being part of the contest and sharing your wonderful story.

Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all of the contestants and great folks who voted for their favorites. Keep your eyes open for the next fun Clown Antics contest, maybe we’ll se your photo next!
